Reading the LNC thread, there seems to be some sense of entitlement to the Adani JV. I detect shock that they went with CNX rather than LNC, and a deduction that it was for reasons other than technological advantage. Personally, I feel if Adani went with any company other than the the one it regarded as having the best technology, this says more about Adani than any of the companies it negotiated with.
The Qld Government is the hardest marker in the world on UCG, and the fact is that both CNX and LNC are still players in Qld because the government considers their respective technological approaches superior to others which have tried.
LNC is a great company with considerable financial muscle, but CNX continues to show it has potential to be similarly great in time. We should applaud both companies for showing that Australia well and truly leads the charge in respect of the international commercialization of UCG.
