Do you think the reason some are predicting sky high gold is that behind the scenes the journos see this world market cracking up but can't break the unwritten rule of a journo in the investment world of rarely do you ever talk markets down for serious REAL reasons. You keep talking the market up and if (when) it fails, you claim to have missed it and are shocked.
The UK became the second highest US$ debt holder last week taking over Japan. The economic world order appears to be changing quickly under USA's leadership, if that is the correct word usage in this case. I almost feel sorry for Scott Homer Bessent except he has been quite open about his position on tariffs even though with his experience and knowledge he is unable to explain why the tariff position could work.
Instead of looking in the rear view mirror, the US politicians need to look out the front window to see whats coming and perhaps avoid it - if possible.
In the meantime, I am stuck with my gold holdings that seem to continue to defy gravity. This is especially true IMHO for us VAU investors.
