Hi Periculum. Im not sure if thats entirely true regarding journalists refusing to talk the market down. l am viewing lots of different pod casts where the journo's are interviewing a cross section of investment advisors, company CEO's , economists and even academics who are all saying the same thing about the bond market. Unfortunately l dont have the skill to provide direct links like others here do, or l would share the feeds as l think others here would enjoy the commentory. l have tried to quote direct sources but HotCopper edits out the journo names and direct sources that l have used and continue to do so. One journalistic source that specialises in gold coverage is based in Vancover Canada and is similar to the chocolate bar Kit Cat and add suffix News - if you get my hint.
Funnily enough, you are right on the money reguarding the UK so far as debt is concerned. Someone l read last night who was talking about the problems in the 10 year treasuries as well, likened the US and the UK as two hopeless drunks holding each other up trying to prevent the other fron falling. Before buyong and holding gold shares, l had practically no interest in economics or policy surrounding it. Now, l find it almost as exciting as a 007 movie. All the caniving, plotting, and back room deals that shape the entire worlds future or threaten to destroy it in the name of profit - is riveting stuff. lnstead of merely living oblivious to all these potentially life changing forces like most of society, l find it very liberating. Frustrating in the extreme too, because when trying to share some warnings about potential financial collapse, friends and colleagues think lm a nutter. Best keep my mouth closed and let main stream media guide the people, while hopefully l profit immensely from the knowledge gained.
While the odds of winning the lotto are severely stacked against all of us, knowledge thanks to the remarkable internet, is now freely available where those savvy enough can use hither to strictly insider knowledge to great personal profit. Or position oneself to maximise that posibility. l really believe my holding in VAU is going to be financially life changing for me and my wife after a life time of hard work and very modest gain. Obviously l dont have one iota of input into how the company is run and only hope LT and the Board are equally clear as to how the gold space is shaping up, thus capitalising on all that is gradually unravelling in this space. l said before, blind Freddy could run VAU with gold on its present trajectory, so its more of a case that LT and the Board dont do anything stupid or radical to F it up for all the small retail holders here. No mereger, no radical restructure, just run the company and improve synergies and efficiencies where possible and practical. We are on the verge of generating mind numbing cash flow for years going forward totally debt free. A once in a life time gift.
Sorry for being so long winded. lm passionate about the gold space and excited about VAU's potential future. I hope everybody here holds and profits as well.
