    The suckers in 1980 bought at US$900. It took until 2008 until they broke even. And no dividends.

    Average NZ house price in 1980 was $25,000. Average NZ house price in 2024 was $915,000.

    Excluding rent. Which is why property 'stackers' are rich, and goldbugs aren't.
