Lynas, a rare earths producer, has inked an agreement to secure Malaysian ionic clay feedstock.
This agreement, which is part of Lynas' broader strategy to diversify its supply chain and become a major producer of heavy rare earths outside China, allows the company to process heavy rare earths ore from Mount Weld, Australia, as well as ionic clay deposits in Australia and Malaysia.
The agreement also includes commercializing waste residues from Lynas' Malaysian plant for use in agriculture, demonstrating local support for Lynas' operations.
