Just a guess, someone wanted to push the SP to low level to accumulate, but that would be unlawful.
With a counterparty, such things would not breach the laws, and it happened without substantial holder alerts.
Anyway, the shares have been collected by Institutes like Pentwater and now the SP is under their average cost and it is hard to see they have any motives to drive it down further.
