This is a big deal! my take on this is the DRC’s decision to freeze all new mining licenses is actually huge for AVZ shareholders. It means no one, not Dathcom, not KoBold, not anyone, can be granted the Manono license until this clean-up is done. The government is basically admitting the mining registry is a mess and needs fixing, which backs up what AVZ has been saying all along. This freeze puts everything on hold and keeps AVZ in the picture, no one can move forward at Manono without first dealing with the legal mess, and that strengthens AVZ’s position in any potential settlement or payout.
