he most likely had a significant tax bill based on the previous sell down of most of his holdings to fund his rights issue.

His decision to sell has nothing to do with his view on the stock.all it has done is to provide some uncertainity in the market which the total return managers can then use to exploit their desired outcome ..whatever that may be.. long ,short or neutral.

stick to the fundamentals and ignore the short term noise
