Gradually building up my personal data base for WCN in the low Arctic. Focused on the Rae project so far and extracted data from the recent announcement as have others way way before me. Actually working with the data does bring it into perspective, somewhat, especially with an exploration background.
The sheer scale of the area is brought out by this image.
Just 4 of the surface samples shown on this image but spread over 100 Kms with many others tucked away in files to be added/or not. The geological similarities do hint of potentially large sources tucked away and yet to be found though most of these high grade zones are likely to have affinities to a Danvers Style or some variant and as such need strike length to make up for the relatively narrow nature of mineralisation on faults and breccias. Multiple mineralisation styles are postulated with the Hulk stratigraphic model the best for tier 1 targets.
Waffling with the drill bit to do the testing. Soon.
For Danvers
Long linear lakes and an associated linear feature show what WCN are targeting with these two phases of drilling.
Probably more surface samples than I have shown - takes a lot of effort finding such in the large set of announcements and historical data.
Two phases of RC (?) drilling?
Probably first pass to see what is present with the second phase as infill, confirmation.
Helicopter supported drilling - most likely to minimise environmental impact.
Detail on the area of recently reported grab samples assays.
Mix of coordinates and GIS so DYOR as accuracy may not be great. Probably is but.....
First test hole of these probably drilled ~SE under the best assays of a set along approx 150m of strike length. Phase two, if it happens, will test strike extent with a further two holes over some 500m.
Winter is waning and the "summer" field season of drilling is soon to come. Mix or RC and DDH - presumably.
Logistics, IMO, suggest they will use Heli supported RC on areas with grab samples = near surface targets to see if there are any depth "legs" for further testing.
Would be interested to know how RC handles permafrost. Do they need protection from rods getting frozen in? Or does the clearing with high pressure air mean 200+m is OK for drilling.
S1r1us have they actually started DDH drilling at Hulk. My impression was it was happening sometime this month but not yet.
=================
I was a bit disappointed that Hole 6 came in at 2% so took a look to see why my 3%+- estimate was high.
The answer lies in the yellow bars below which I didn't notice. These represent the lower grade portions of the overall intersection that reduce the bulk average.
Looking at Hole 7 there appears to be only on 7m interval that is probably <1% that won't impact the bulk grade as much as similar zones in Hole 6. As such I hope #7 will be among the best holes for thickness if not grade.
