The Gospel passage for the day showed Jesus at the Last Supper praying that all “may be one”, which the Pope described as “the greatest good that we can desire.”
Having travelled and worked in quite a few countries, resulting in us having friends in a number of countries, and we are, in a sense, one with them. We would not want to go to war with any of them because that would mean having to go to war with friends. It is not difficult to extend that idea to every country; we are one with every person on the planet.
Indeed, may we be one which we are, but don't realise it, and don't always act accordingly.
