RUM is a google group but I don't have the link anymore - it is on iii if you trawl back through pages or perhaps someone who has it could oblige. I stress that I don't believe there is actual information on there that is not publicly available as most of it gets put out on the main boards pretty quickly but I don't want to take the risk.
Jam - I think you are right about the CG on oppies but I really don't know about the treatment on exercise sorry. I have the majority in a company name and super fund so doesn't matter. I do think it was possibly a contributing factor to RRSO lagging RRS as well as the time it takes to exercise ie better to sell them at a discount and get the CGT 12 month treatment. You should ask an accountant as it might be possible you can date the RRS purchase back to when you bought options but I reckon that is unlikely.
I have exercised some to be able to keep the arbitrage in check if it happens to get to 10%+ again ie I plan to sell heads and buy oppies and exercise to replace my heads - I make money and the company gets the cashflow earlier and those selling at a discount probably can't afford to exercise and wait so everyones a winner.
