Geoff, you are quite right if you bought it at zero dollars and sold it within 12 months and are in the top tax bracket. But i don't think there is anyone in the world that fits that profile. You are taxed on the gains, not the total sale value. You also get a 50% discount if you hold it more than 12 months. Thats two times now that you have been wrong. Folks might do well not listening to you.
