Every human has an inner moron just waiting to emerge, fueled by greed, fear, corruption and a 100 other 'lesser' human characteristics.
The finger maybe should not be pointed at the pollies but the system they work within.
If we were serious about the topic the finger should be pointed at the oz version of democracy and the potential for it to be brought by minority self interest groups, whether corporates, universities, religious organisations and a 100 other so called lobby groups that put 'self interest' before the public good.
Ban ALL political donations, political parties should NOT be 'beholden' to any minority self interest.
If you think a large donation (accepted) is something other than a mutual contract of 'obligation' your kidding yourself.
Promote a system where pollies act on behalf of the people who elected them, won't get rid of the hard core morons but the general 'moron' potential would diminish quickly.
