Revisiting promising historical exploration

Exploration teams from BHP, Newmont and Newcrest Mining previously conducted extensive fieldwork in the region, generating a suite of geochemical and radiometric anomalies – particularly in the Hart Bore area on the Lyons tenement.

Several of these anomalies were followed up with auger and rotary air blast (RAB) drilling, returning anomalous values for gold, base metals and rare earth elements (REEs). Lanthanein says the quality of this historical data warrants further investigation.

As a next step, the company is planning a program of close-spaced geochemical sampling to better define targets with gold and base metal potential, with a view to future drilling.

Forward outlook

With a refined asset base, Lanthanein is focusing its efforts on priority projects with multi-commodity potential, particularly where past exploration by Tier 1 players has left a strong technical foundation.

“The company remains focused on its strategic objectives and continues to explore and assess acquisitions and investment opportunities to enhance shareholder value,” it said.

Lanthanein’s next phase of work at Lyons and Edmund is expected to provide key insights to guide future drill targeting.
