Hi Martin, I was like that on my first ones (around thirty years ago) pre- 1987. You'll pardon me if the exact date slips me.
So you don't have to do anything, especially accept yet. The bid will proceed with a number of people taking it up and some not. If more than 50% accept and the bid becomes unconditional. They will tell us so, in the end, they will warn us that they are going to conclude the offer by a given date. You/we just need to keep paying attention to the progress and warnings they give us. I think the first thing will be that they disclose what % have accepted, presumably management and any other big fish they got onside before the bid.
Don't worry, people like FlightTime and I will tell you when we think the battle is lost and are about to or have accepted. You just need to monitor the two channels HC and XAM's announcements, probably direct mail to you of the same. The bottom line is that they don't want my / your smaller number of shares without the big guy's ones.
The great thing for you is it's a learning experience. I knew SFA and had no HC or even internet when I got my first T/O offers.
