Buy it out? I’m not so sure — it seems more likely they’re preparing to sell. That would potentially benefit all shareholders. If they were planning to buy more, I doubt the BVUG would be ahead of schedule. Plus, we’ve seen more proactive marketing from the company, the Laverton sale helping clear debt, and a well-prepared AGM presentation — all of which suggest they’re positioning for a sale.
We don’t know how China–Taiwan tensions will unfold, and West Africa may now be a more attractive and stable region for Chinese gold miners.
