I believe at the time (into March / April), when market cap along with liquidity is shrinking, it would have made very difficult conversations with the risk committee. Notwithstanding the impending MSCI Small Cap exclusion (one can reasonably predict the inclusions and deletions) which takes away a big segment of the investor base whilst a new, opportunistic, smaller pockets investor base tried to take long positions.
But i agree they should have been supportive of the equity. The assets are good, scarce and the costs are improving. This has potential to be a multi-bagger
