I don't know that haste was part of the equation - it took 8+ months to purchase Accord in WA and as for cold hard cash the deals wouldn't have gone through without it as the HTC shares were always a gamble for them especially given what unfolded during the final stages of the deals.
A name is a name at the end of the day, if it was called crazy Pete's IT and it serviced customers well enough to make at least an appropriate net profit for a year - not sure how the script scenario fits in with the thread.
How many will jump ship will be evident over the next six months - that is assuming there are enough investors willing to buy 90 million shares.
Spin is no substitute for hard nosed business skills which seems to be confirmed by a declining SP.
