I suspect it's far more rampant than we would imagine. I have seen multiple instances (not on EXR) of people replying to themselves probably by mistake.
Hot copper doesn't care but. The more people they have posting, engaging, looking at ads, driving traffic etc - the better for them and their metrics.
Notice how the frequent posters never get moderated? You're not gonna tell your regulars to shop somewhere else are you?
