Does Australia actually need nuclear. Why not just continue to use coal and gas. We have plenty of these available at low cost. It is the climate alarmists that stop this happening. In the meantime, we have China doing just that. Using our coal, they have a competitive advantage over us. CO2 is not a poison; it is a necessary "building block" for food production and climate control.
