IXR's Ionic Technologies will be producing lightREOs Nd/Pr 350,000kg and HeavyREOs Dy/Tb 50,000kg. Ionic Technologies IPs can also process and refine MREC and RE Mining Concentrates into High Purity Separated REOs, that information will be available this year from Brazil, where Viridion Rare Earth Technologies will have a Pilot plant that will be processing MREC from VMMs Colossus Rare Earth Mining Project.

The Centro de Terras Raras is VMM’s pilot facility for MREC production, validating its low-cost, sustainable extraction process before full-scale operations begin in 2028. This positions Poços de Caldas as a strategic node in Western rare earth supply chains, reducing reliance on China.

Viridion Rare Earths Technologies, the JV between IXR (Ionic Rare Earths) and VMM (Viridis Mining & Minerals), is planning two pilot plants in Brazil—one for MREC (Mixed Rare Earth Carbonate) production and one for magnet recycling—and these developments are directly connected to the recent news about the Centro de Terras Raras in Poços de Caldas above.
