Couldn't agree more Eddie, they have been at it like rabbits for ages and although one side is more right than the other their dirty tricks and nasty histories are of minimal interest to the rest of us.

Now something many here may have already known but I only realised recently was that the amount of Dy and Tb in the Mt Weld ore (and in nearly all hard rock mines) is way too low to match the demand created by the production of our Nd and Pr. So Lynas's heavy earth separation plant just commissioned in Malaysia can't be fully utilised if it only uses the Mt Weld ore.

Thankfully Amanda is all over that and Lynas has signed an MOU with Menteri Besar owned by the Kelantan State Government for the supply of mixed rare earths carbonate. Importantly it is leeched from ionic clay deposits and has a much higher % of HRE than the Mt Weld ore meaning that Lynas can now supply the perfect balance of Nd & Pr with Dy & Tb to make the magnets that the world needs independent of China.

As an aside Myanmar also has suitable deposits of ionic clays for rare earth leeching, that maybe one of the reasons for China to support the military junta that keeps taking power from the elected government there.
