@Bronco1; in his globally televised address the Chief of the LAPD explained that the likes of people depicted in that photo have long been known to police and that they are NOT legitimate protesters. Rather he called them out as being 'anarchists' [Neo Nazis, Proud Boys, ...].
The Chief of the LAPD claimed that the LAPD had the full cooperation of people protesting against Trump's oppressive impositions on immigrants until Trump unleashed the National Guard against the wishes of the Governor of California and the Mayor of LA.
Trump's unilateral interventions provided opportunity for anarchists to run amok.
Following Trump's Capitol Insurrection of January 6th 2021 it's quite possible that he'll also grant Presidential Pardons to anarchists convicted of such behaviours - they can run amok knowing that Trump has their backs!
