ZIP completely avoids this by providing you with a one-time use credit card to use on web stores which don't accept ZIP, but do accept credit cards. The card details simply cannot be used if stolen. So, if you're making a purchase on a web store, don't use your credit card, use the ZIP virtual card and no worries about the risk of stolen card details and no inconvenience of cancelling a card and all that does with that.

Why aren't the banks offering this? Until they do, ZIP is a safer bet online for card purchases.

I would go on, but I don't want to sound like an advertisement for ZIP. I just wanted to point out there is more depth to the services offered than being "just another credit card", and this was just one example.

Most people with CCs also use with Paypal which is free and the online stores don't see your CC details. As soon as you buy something with Paypal, your CC gets charged after. Merchant doesn't see any sensitive details.

Who is putting their CC details in random stores online? Paypal has the customer's back when you dispute something.. ALWAYS USE PAYPAL!!!!
