cheers goldy. from US reports, a range of reports, th protest started our a family affair with bbq's and music.... a few flags came along and some signs.... crowd gathered and police came along to disperse them but none moved, tho they apparently invited the coppers to join them
the National Guard arrived and thats when the trouble started.
I don't really know as I wasn't there (with flowers in my hair) but it seems the NG got a bit aggro and that caused pushback.
did the NG efforts change anything? maybe it caused protesters to become more stubborn, but it didn't move them on. even under fire and smoke.
