UBS have been a majority holder since early days. They’ve sold all their position in great profit and simultaneously short sold their stock, betting that their sell volumes would be unmatched by buyers and send the share price lower.
They were right on that trade.
now they need to buy back their short sold shares, betting that there isn’t going to be ANOTHER buyer of similar volume front running them leaving them at a loss when trying to liquidate the short shares.
This means they will most certainly execute this buy programme BEFORE the 31st July 2025 announcement which will undoubtedly provide the data many larger sophisticated institutions require to “tick the box” and start accumulating into their portfolios.
i expect that this buy back programme starts immediately.
