Also-If and when a peptide was found to be useful in blocking a disease target, the method surrounding the discovery, the method used in the bonding of the target and peptide, and any modifications eg optimisation would all potentially qualify
for patent.
If a phylomer was discovered and found to be a highly valuable drug candidate, there would be ample methods of operation surrounding the peptide to securely lock up the rights.
