Every migrant who came to the country bought their own home because they were affordable.
They had 4 or 5 children because they could pay off their home on one wage and mothers could raise the children.
The house next door to our eldest Son’s in Brisbane sold 6 months ago for 1.7 million.
How does someone on a single wage afford that sort of loan even with help from the Bank of Mum and Dad.
Our Son has been fortunate to set up a successful company and stress tested his loan 3 years ago to interest rates of 6%. Went in knowing he could make the payments and his wife had well paid management job as well.
This is not the typical situation for the young couples today.
