Unfortunately, you are probably right, it has been happening a lot! ASX rules allow it, and a lot of the institutions like to play shorting games on the ASX. It's almost like they use the profits on international markets to short and cap the ASX the day after. I am personally surprised NST is not already a $50 stock. There are not too many companies on the ASX making the kind of profits NST are making during a generational gold price boom which is hovering around records. Yet in other sectors with fewer profits, many stocks still manage to have multi bag returns. Sometimes it is more about luck and the institutional tactics than fundamentals such as profits and operational success.
