I actually agree with you. When I have read all the reports produced during the mandate period there is little indication that the British were really serious about Jews and far more interested in pursuing strategic interests with Arabs. Nothing makes sense about the borders that were proposed and it never gave Jews what is most connected with biblical heartland. In fact it gave even Christian biblical heartland to Arabs

further I’ve read British foreign office and CIA reports from the 1947-48 period. Both nations were in regular communication with Jordan over the planned attacks and their timing in relation to British withdrawal. They lifted not a finger to support Israel and there is evidence that the British aided or ignored Arab attacks on Jews in the preceding period Israel was on its own with its only support coming from Czechoslovakia in the form of weapons. The UN saw no reason to bring order and peace

when the newly formed country emerged as the victor the United Nations then passed a resolution that effectively countermanded the creation of is Jewish state by creating the right of return. While the resolution included a clause - “to those who live to live in peace with their neighbour” this would have had the effect of swamping the Jewish state with Moslems. No such right of return was granted to Moslems moved from India to the new stare of Pakistan or Hindus in the reverse direction

the world has never stopped interfering in Israeli affairs in a way that has subjected it to constant threat

I think it reasonable to assume that the world has secretly hoped that Jews would disappear and that there was a hope that in that first war the Jewish state would be destroyed and Hitlers work completed
