This project would take the pressure off the Straits of Hormuz choke point The Ben Gurion Canal Project—a trade route through Palestine and Israel that could only be created by obliterating Gaza. Declassified documents reveal that the US Department of Energy was planning to take extreme measures to make this canal possible.
