the age: victoria bans wind farms.
An interesting snippet ignored or conveniently buried by the rampers this quote from an article out of The Age re Kyoto. Victoria is pursuing tree planting as a method of helping the environment:
"But in its own small way, the Bracks Government is even more stupid. This week it bowed to "not in my backyard" pressure to stop the planned development of wind farms near Ballarat and Macedon."
Interesting attitude. Everyone I've spoken to describes them variously as very noisy, heard for miles and an eyesore.
Can't be encouraging for those wanting to see those PHY facilities with their 60 truckloads of concrete per fan and high start up costs.
