@JCoure you have got to be objective and try and see it from the point of view of the people who had to accommodate the State of Israel.
To them it must have seemed like another of those European colonial outposts, as Europeans did in Africa and Asia during the days of 'Empire' (British, French, Spanish, Portuguese,(and in ancient times: Roman) and they left their colonies all over the place . - foreign bodies implanted on their homeland.
When you watch the participation of Israel in various European contests (Eurovision) - and their progressive ways within Israel with land use, scientific progress etc. (engendering perhaps envy) it is no wonder that they are still regarded as a 'foreign' body.
There is also the constant confrontation with Western values, attitudes to sex, women's dress code, alcohol etc., which must be an affront to most religious Arab people, and, possibly, pushes them into more extreme attitudes.
Now with America supporting Israel in such obvious ways, it will confirm that Israel is not really 'one of them' but an outsider, a colonial outpost of the West. There could also be questions of envy of lifestyle, envy of their 'freedom' coming into play, and withdrawal into ' they are of the devil, and must be destroyed' attitudes.
BUT: They are probably fighting a losing battle as their youth is computer savvy and social media has reached their youth and their countries, too.
I am not being critical, just trying to see it from their point of view.
and - maybe - Israel is that thing, a last colony of the West in Arab lands.
