I may be the eternal optimist, but I think these protests in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya could well strengthen Cameroon's stability.

The small Cameroon protest is a good indication that things are nowhere near as bad in Cameroon as they are in some other countries in the region. However the events in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya would no doubt have President Biya on guard.

I think there will be motivation for President Biya to lift his game, in order to ensure that he doesn't get marched out of town like the others. I am tipping he will be looking to score some points with the Cameroon people over the next couple of months, and supplying them with employment would be a great way to do this.
