I had high hopes for Matt Renshaw. I thought that he may emulate Matthew Hayden by failing at test level early but returning later to be a dominating opener.

They are both lefties and strongly-built. He is still under 30, just, so he could still make it as test opener again if he put his mind to it

I just read though that he was born in Middlesborough. .

    Wikipedia:

Matt Renshaw was born in Middlesbrough, England. His family moved to New Zealand when he was seven, and then to Australia when he was ten.[4] He attended Brisbane Grammar School.[5]
He scored his maiden first-class century on 6 December 2015 in the 2015–16 Sheffield Shield against New South Wales.[6] He made his List A debut for the National Performance Squad against India A on 27 August 2016.[7]
