There is no public indication that IsoEnergy’s Hurricane uranium deposit is being acquired or entering a joint venture with Cameco or the Cameco/Orano (Urneco) JV.
The Hurricane deposit is directly adjacent to the Dawn Lake JV property held by Cameco and Orano, which makes the idea of collaboration or acquisition strategically plausible in the future.IsoEnergy currently owns 100% of the Hurricane deposit, which is part of its Larocque East project in the eastern Athabasca Basin. It’s one of the highest-grade uranium resources globally, with 48.6 million pounds at an average grade of 34.5% U₃O. The project is also just 40 km from Orano’s McClean Lake mill, which will require new feed sources at some point
I am expecting more Mergers and Acquisitions. Boss did a nifty one with EnCore Energy in 2023 for the Alta Mesa uranium project in South Texas. Boss acquired a 30% stake in the Alta Mesa project for US$60 million.It also invested US$10 million into enCore’s common shares. The joint venture company is now 70% owned by enCore (who remains the project manager) and 30% by Boss Energy. That targeting an annualized production rate of 1.5 million pounds of U₃O₈ of which Boss gets 450,000 pounds per year "if "at full capacity. The IF is important of course.
Our target of 2.5 million pounds of U₃O₈ per year is sweet and safely in hand shortly now.
