USA: Hey Iran, we are going to strike this nuclear facility. Please move your stuff and people out of there. And then you can strike our largest base in the Middle East in return. This way we all win for now.
Perhaps USA realized that the whole war with Iran wouldn't be as much of a picnic as the war with Iraq was? Iran does have significant missile and drone strike capabilities. Just imagine Iran using some of those capabilities to launch strikes against US energy/oil/gas assets in the region. I doubt they'd be any more protected then the US base in Qatar.
Perhaps we'll still see those in the near future because the US-Iran conflict hasn't really gone anywhere and will continue. It has been put on pause for now.
