I hope you do not mind me seeking clarification as I am very keen on the BEN/GSF debacle.
It does not matter whether the loan had been assigned to BEN or some other Dude. An assignment is only as good as the original debt! If the original debt is questionable then the debt is still questionable in the hands of whoever had got the assignment.
My initial impression was BEN had a portforlio of loans from GSP investor - these investors applied for a loan directly to BEN and then used the loan for the TREEs.
Can you clarify - did you apply for the loan directly to BEN or did you apply to GSF who then onsell/assign the loan to BEN?
