He has no clue what he is talking about, it is common practice in the Oil and Gas industry to commence production on a smaller choke setting - as it maintains the integrity of the well and maintains a high well head pressure, once the well shows signs of slowing production the choke setting will be gradually increased to keep a stabilised flow rate. AUT is currently using this technique on their wells with very good IP's and minimal declines.
