Individual performance rewards should be related to something the individual has done to improve company performance. I don't agree the the common approach of rewarding management with respect to short term share price changes (I understand that some shareholders may have a different view). The share price goes up and down seemingly unrelated to company performance (in the short term).
Given a reward scheme supposedly based on share price performance, it is absolutely appalling that options should be issued with an exercise price of $0.
