Irrational would be thinking someone said, or inferred, or implied something when they didn't.
These people are extremely intolerant of other viewpoints and have no hesitation in labelling someone a racist, redneck, bigot without taking the argument into consideration. Hypocritical and self-righteous come to mind.
I'm intolerant of racist viewpoints, and I'll label a racist a racist.
