suggestion for ignoring goodoil

I have had GoodOil on ignore for a long time now as I find him a nuisance who doesn't listen to facts or reason, however that's my personal opinion and others may have a different view. Everyone has a right to be heard on HotCopper (within the guidelines), however I have chosen to ignore him.

Unfortunately, pretty much every thread on MHM still becomes contaminated with people replying to his posts degrading the whole value of the MHM board on HotCopper. Some people have expressed a valid argument that they don't want newbies to MHM to believe some of things GoodOil says and feel it is their duty to respond with corrections etc. That is fair enough, but it still makes the MHM threads close to unreadable IMO.

Suggestion
I propose that all replies to GoodOil be placed into a new thread with the prefix "goodoil:". For example, if GoodOil replies to this thread, anyone wanting to reply to him would start a new thread titled "goodoil: suggestion for ignoring goodoil".

This approach would ensure those who have GoodOil on ignore don't have to read threads littered with replies to his posts. Those that do want to engage with him can do so through the "goodoil:" thread.

Although not ideal (it would be great if HotCopper started to use tree hierarchy's to posts so I could simply collapse goodoil threads) this is the best solution I can think of to make the MHM threads readable again.
