Given my nic, I would argue that people choose to live in homosexual relationships - we all have free will. That said, I know that I am strongly attracted to women (I should say "woman" in case my wife reads this!!!). I also accept that some men or women will also be strongly attracted to their own sex. Do you think they should fight this and live a lie as heterosexuals? Or do you think they deserve to be treated as equals in our society given they are consenting adults?
I don't know how old you are or whether you have children. But how would you feel if one of your children was gay? Would you want him or her to live a miserable life in denial? Or accept who they are live life to the full? I have three kids and I would want them to live life to the full - we only get one.
And remember a "vote" used to mean a "white vote". Does it mean voting is no longer voting now that aboriginals can vote as well?
