That would be OK but its not the way of the world.

Australia is short of engineering people because they are underpaid and appreciated most of their lives. Engineers are treated appalingly, they are treated with the rest of the engineering staff as savages who belong down the back of the factory.

The gentlemen accountants get the airconditioned offices in the admin block, the cushy jobs at HQ with the big money and eventually the directorships.

Then when its time for engineers, diesel fitters and other practical types to hit the jackpot the competition is bought in from China and India.

No one is a stronger economic rationalist than me but I believe workers should get a slice of the boom too.

What is the point of economic rationalism if not to make our citizens richer?
