    I think the Labor backbenchers are getting pretty excited about this result scitty.

    Amazing how teflon man, Wayne Swan, avoids scrutiny each time there is a major tax policy screw up and its the PM's head that rolls.....

    carbon tax looks likely to finish Swan

    you can bet your bottom dollar he'll keep his job though....

    they need someone in his role on top of policy who can understand policy and communicate effectively to the electorate. Swan is hopeless.

    This country has problems going forward with the quality of political debate in this country and the calibre of its politicians. That applies to both sides of politics.

    Whenever scaremongering stops reform - be that Workchoices, or ETS (whatever you may think of those policies) - it makes the next round of reforms that much harder. So we tread water.

    It's really a sad state of affairs when there is no one to admire and respect in our national leadership.
