buyback a failure, page-30

    Sammyjh,

it is simple logic but it is beyond you.

The buyback inflates the price because demand increases.

When the buyback ends demand decreases.

Laws of supply and demand indicate share price falls.

Purchasing shares in a buyback over a long period will generally result in lower purchase price than shares bought aggressively (ie 16M in a day) or in a short time frame.

No these are not 100% certainties, nothing ever is, but they are very obvious points of logic to understand.

Foresight is using your brain to estimate, as accurate as possible, to judge the future and act accordingly.

Yes I could predict it was highly likely they could have bought back at much lower prices if they paced the end of the buyback. Anyone should have been able to do this.

Yes I was going to post this, just like I posted a long time ago suggesting a buyback at much lower prices, just like I posted the fall on that day was not due to manipulation due to a takeover bid.

Aggressive buybacks (16M in a day) generally equate to raised purchase prices, less aggressive buybacks generally result in lowered purhcase prices.

Someone posted BEFORE this drop that they were concerned the aggressive buyback was resulting in the buyback price being too high.

It is not a guarantee, nothing is, but it is simple logic of playing the probabilities. You should be able to figure this out, as should have the people buying back.

Here is an oversimplified analogy maybe you can understand. Imagine a company every day buys 10M worth of shares for 100 days, do you think this would inflate the share price excluding other variables?
