I don't know how we got talking about traffic lights. But during my cursing when driving yesterday, I thought about linking your GPS device with the traffic lights where it tells you what speed to adjust to so you don't get any red lights. Of course the speed will have to be within the limit. Why it's hard with current technology is that there are many lights that are activated by traffic which upsets the sequencing.
Equally annoying are driver's at the front of the cue, usually waiting for the green arrow to turn - they will delay for several seconds before they hit the gas, so you only get 3 or 4 cars through rather then the possible 11 or so.
Then the drivers that will sit on 55 in an 80 zone, cause much frustration with the drivers behind them, and then will drive through an amber/red light as if it was a green leaving the rest of the traffic behind at the lights.
