Thanks fireblade I am trying to analyse all the permutations and this article provided some of the answers. I do not think for one minute that this offer is the 'fait accompli', if it is, Rio has lost the plot as a major resource company which we all know is not the case. I would think Rio has at least 4-5B in their war chest (IMO a more realistic valuation of this resource) if they want a fight. However contacts I have in Namibia reckon that the Government has a desire to attract Chinese money and Rio is not top of the Christmas card list (pure rumour and personal opinions of course). At the end of the day I am still more interested in the DFS and the impending resource upgrade, the Chinese obviously have enough information already !
