"read my posts, very easy to see what i'm implying."
Actually, it is not. Hence my asking.
I understand that you are implying that some form of magnetic anomaly affecting the fishes navigation was responsible for this. Please explain the mechanisms which you feel make this responsible. How did this kill the fish?
"fish schools are generally composed of the same species, but in that area are there no predatory schools of fish that feed on sardines?"
Firstly, I would be my house on there being a multitude of predators in 'that area', including barracuda, Jacks, Sailfish and many more. Secondly, why do you even mention this?
"from the research that i have done. i can find evidence suggesting that only the sardines were effected."
Where did you get the data for your 'research'? I would be extremely surprised if this fish kill was species specific, and would love to see some data which states this. Before you chastise me, I am not asking you to do my research, I am simply asking to see what research you are basing this statement on.
"algae is a possible explanation for the sardines. many holes in that theory, it also doesn't explain why birds are effected and suddenly drop out of the sky."
Please elaborate on these 'holes' in the algal bloom theory. It occurs every spring in this geographical location. Why is this year any different?
Also, please point out where the article mentions 'birds falling out of the sky'?
"if it was digested poison, then every bird would have had to eat at exactly the same time for the effects to occur simultaneously."
I am amazed you wrote that...
"you assume that it was an algal bloom low oxygen fish kill?"
I do not assume that it was an algal bloom, but it IS the most likely scenario seeing as:
a) the article states an algal bloom was the cause
b) it happens annually, in the springtime, in this location
"can you prove that magnetism has nothing to do with any of these occurences?"
No I cannot, but I do not need to because a far more plausible explanation is that algal bloom killed them. I am still not sure how a magnetic variation could cause a mass fish kill inside their native range. It's not like a species only found off the coast of Australia has turned up in California all dead because they couldn't stand the water temperature.
