Ultimately it as JW calling the shots operationally NOT any engineer nor any mine manager when it came to mining ore or going to a cutback stage. Beta has not produced the tonnes nor the grade and JW went into this mess with NO reserve cash. So, to keep cash flow JW forced operations people to keep getting ore to pay the bills.
From my experience JW was good as an EXPLORATION Geologist NOTHING MORE!! I would not give him my kids piggy bank to look after, as he would drop it over a storm water grate that he did not see.
